Your Mission

As a Material Flow Manager/ Commodity Trader (m/f/d), you will take on the central hub function for our goods and volume flows in the field of sustainable proteins and fats. You will steer the interaction between raw material management, purchasing and sales, warehousing, as well as international logistics, and actively drive the development of a structured trading and disposition platform.
With your sound market and price understanding, your regulatory know-how in handling animal by-products, and your strong network, you will ensure that our products from deep-freeze and dry goods to CAT 3 materials – reach their buyers worldwide on time, quality-assured, and in full legal compliance.

Your Tasks

• Strategic and operational management of global goods flows for insect proteins, fats, fertilizers (CAT 3), as well as intermediate products

• Monitoring raw material markets and price developments, developing trading strategies, and actively contributing to the establishment of an internal disposition and trading platform

• Handling internal and external inquiries, as well as coordinating with in-house production, toll manufacturers, and external supplier networks

• Determining optimal storage conditions (deep-freeze, dry storage, tank/silo transport) and monitoring warehouse dwell times

• Reviewing and ensuring compliance with country-specific authorization and registration requirements (e.g. EU, US/FDA) regarding product categorization, labeling, and the transport of animal by-products

• Processing sales- and purchase-side transactions in the ERP system (Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central) and continuously optimizing administrative supply chain workflows

What You Bring

• Degree in business, agricultural economics, or logistics (e.g. agricultural economics, commodity trading, supply chain management, industrial engineering) or a comparable qualification

• Several years of practical experience in commodity trading, material flow management, as well as in the utilization and logistics of organic residues, slaughterhouse by-products, animal feed, or animal by-products

• Ideally prior knowledge or an existing network in the field of insect farming (BSF), animal nutrition, and alternative protein sources – alternatively, the motivation and ability to quickly familiarize yourself with this growth market

• Sound knowledge of the legal and regulatory framework for the storage, handling, certification, and transport of animal by-products (CAT 3) in both national and international contexts

• Experience in working with ERP systems (idealerweise Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central) as well as proficient use of MS Office

• Business-fluent German and English skills (at least C1 level) combined with a strong hands-on mentality, negotiation skills, analytical thinking, and excellent communication skills
