Job description

Your Mission

As a Technical Assistant (m/f/d) in the breeding operation of the Black Soldier Fly (BSF), you support our team in the execution, monitoring, and continuous development of our biological and technical production processes.

With your sense of responsibility in handling living organisms, your practical approach, and your understanding of biological relationships, you significantly contribute to ensuring a stable, efficient, and sustainable breeding operation.

Your Tasks

  • Support in the execution, monitoring, and optimization of biological and technical processes in the breeding operation

  • Care and supply of breeding populations considering biological requirements

  • Assistance in packaging, logistics, and shipping preparation including labeling and documentation

  • Cleaning, maintenance, and disinfection of production facilities as well as recording relevant process data

  • Operation, maintenance, and control of machinery, equipment, and production systems

  • Execution and documentation of quality controls

  • Support in error analysis and continuous improvement of production processes

  • Compliance with and implementation of quality, hygiene, and safety standards

  • Participation in the introduction of new procedures and optimization of existing processes

Your Profile

  • Completed training or studies in the field of agriculture, biology, entomology, animal care, agricultural sciences, food technology, or a comparable natural science or technical discipline

  • Alternatively, completed training as a farmer, animal caretaker, biological-technical assistant, or a comparable practical qualification

  • Practical experience in agricultural production, animal husbandry, or biological breeding advantageous

  • Responsible and careful handling of living organisms as well as understanding of biological processes

  • Strong hands-on mentality and enjoyment of practical work in a production environment

  • Willingness to work according to defined quality, hygiene, and safety standards

  • Physical resilience as well as basic knowledge of MS Office and documentation

  • Team spirit, initiative, and flexibility; forklift license and knowledge of English are advantageous
